What Card Capture does
Card Capture scans business cards and helps you turn the recognised details into Contacts entries, CSV files, or vCards. It has no account system and no server-side service.
Information processed on the device
The app may process:
- card photos selected from the photo library or captured with the camera;
- text recognised from those images;
- contact fields that you review or edit, including names, organizations, phone numbers, email addresses, websites, social profiles, and postal addresses; and
- app settings and locally stored batches needed to provide scanning and export.
The app uses Apple's Vision, VisionKit, Photos, and Contacts frameworks on your device. The app does not upload these items to a Card Capture server.
Sharing and tracking
Card Capture contains no analytics or advertising SDK, does not track users, and does not send card data to a developer-operated server. You can deliberately share an exported file through the iOS share sheet or save a selected card to Contacts; those actions are controlled by you and may be handled by the destination or service you pick.
Retention and deletion
Batches and images remain in the app's local storage until you archive or otherwise remove them through the app or the operating system. Archiving is reversible and does not silently delete the underlying data. Because nothing leaves your device, there is no copy for us to retain or delete.
Permissions
- Camera: used to photograph business cards.
- Photo library: used only for images you choose to import.
- Contacts: used only when you choose to save selected cards.
Children
Card Capture isn't directed at children under 13. The app has no account and sends nothing to us, so we don't receive information from anyone who uses it, children included.
